Tangerang, December 10th , 2022

H.E. President of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Joko Widodo officially opened the 8th World Junior Wushu Championship of 2022 on December 5th, 2022 in Tangerang. It lasted from December 5th to 10th, 2022. Indonesia appointed 23 best athletes from its national selection and successfully stayed on the 3rd rank with 10 gold medals, 2 silvers and 5 bronzes. They competed in 2 numbers of disciplines: Taolu and Sanda. Furthermore, the event was attended by participants from 60 countries plus 2 regions.

Due to the existence of International Wushu Federation as a member of IOC, it was mandatory to do doping control. For such purpose, IADO as the sample collection authority (SCA) assigned 13 persons as Sample Collection Personnel (SCP), while Testing Order was from IWUF. The number of samples collection was 30 urine samples and 3 blood samples, which were directly delivered to the laboratory in Bangkok. Such good coordination between IADO and PBWI (National Wushu Federation) is a good investment to educate athletes to be aware of anti-doping, in particular after the MoU among them.
