On June 28 2024, the IADO Secretary General dr. Eka Wulan Sari (accompanied by Putri Ayu Maharani (IADO Legal Staff) fulfilled the invitation of CDTL (Confederacao do Desporto de Timor Leste / East Timor Sports Confederation) conveyed through the Management of KONI (National Sports Committee of Indonesia) to be one of the speakers at the 2024 Kona-ba Anti-Dopazen National Symposium (National Symposium on Anti-Doping 2024) in Timor Leste. The event was organized at the CNE Building, Dili, Timor Leste. On that presentation, dr Eka Wulan Sari provided a very comprehensive on IADO’s duties which have been conducted as well as the planning which would be executed.
That presentation was very interesting for CDTL, because so far there is no NADO in Timor Leste, considering that the unit that handles doping control is still affiliated with the Ministry of Sports, namely Sport Integrity under the Timor Leste Sports Commission. As a follow-up to the presentation on anti-doping from IADO, CDTL intended to continue to collaborate with IADO. For IADO, the response to the CDTL initiative was very positive due to the friendly atmosphere during the symposium between Indonesia and Timor Leste which had encouraged the continuation of better bilateral relations. Even though IADO is still on the organizational development stage, IADO is committed to support the implementation of doping control in Timor Leste. That collaboration will specifically be realized in the form of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
