As part of the IADO’s efforts to improve its doping control performance using information technology-based methods, on July 16th, 2025, IADO held a meeting at its offices with an experienced IT vendor. The meeting was attended by several IADO leaders and staff, as well as representatives from the vendor. With this new IT-based service, the IADO will experience several benefits in its doping control capacity, including: to increase efficiency in recording and reporting test results; to ease of tracking and managing athlete data; to reduce risk of human error in data processing; and to increase transparency and accountability at every stage of the doping control process.
This IT-based web service has actually been nothing new among NADOs in a number of countries, as many have already used it. It has alos been widely used in other fields outside of doping control, such as health, education, and sports logistics management. For IADO, in addition to the benefits mentioned above, improvements are also needed, as it has so far relied less on an integrated data management system. Furthermore, other weaknesses of the service system currently used by IADO included a lack of interoperability between platforms, limited real-time access for field officers, and a lack of analytical features for data-driven decision-making.
