Jakarta, 25 July 2025

Following its successful bid to host the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) at a recent FIG congress, PERSANI (Indonesian Gymnastics Association) will host the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships from October 14th to 20th, 2025, in Jakarta, at the Indonesia Arena. That event will be the first major international artistic gymnastics event to be held in Indonesia and even Southeast Asia. The international event will feature approximately 600 athletes from 78 countries, with a total of 1,200 participants, including officials and judges. More importantly, the championships will serve as a qualifying event for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

As is one of the requirements for organizing international events, especially world championships like this, the Organizing Committee for the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships is certainly obliged to allocate activities for doping control. In that event, the Testing Authority will be the International Testing Agency (ITA), while the SCP (Sample Collection Personnel) will be provided by the IADO. The provisions regarding the appointment of those entitled to become Testing Authorities and SCPs are entirely dependent on the International Federation. For the purposes of this activity, both PERSANI and IADO have been coordinating with each other for quite some time. However, to further intensify this coordination, a coordination meeting was held on July 25th, 2025, attended by PERSANI Secretary General Mrs. Sri Sundari and her team, and IADO, which was directly attended by the IADO Chairman, the IADO Testing Director, and the IADO Intelligence and Investigation Director.

IADO highly appreciates PERSANI, for being very open in conveying data on the preparation for the event and also mentioning a number of facilities that can be used by IADO, especially the DCOs and BCOs on duty. IADO also thanked PERSANI, for responding positively regarding the number of SCPs to be assigned and the freedom of access granted, so that the SCPs on duty can freely monitor and supervise the mobility of certain athletes who will be sampled.
