The Indonesian Weightlifting Association (PB PABSI) successfully held the 2025 National Weightlifting Selection on August 20th, 2025, in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. The national selection, held at the Kwini Marine Base, Central Jakarta, was officially opened by the Secretary General of PB PABSI, Major General Mar (Ret.) Djoko Pramono, before continuing with a series of competitions featuring the best athletes from various regions in Indonesia.
A total of 22 athletes participated in this selection, consisting of 14 female athletes and 8 male athletes, representing 9 provinces. Each province fielded its best athletes to compete against a number of national training athletes. The competition was intense, with close differences in each weight class, adding to the spirited competitive atmosphere. The IADO acted as the Testing Authority (TA), Sample Collection Authority (SCA), and Result Management Authority (RMA) for this event. The IADO assigned two Doping Control Officers (DCOs) and one Chaperone to oversee the entire sample collection process, in accordance with the International Standard for Testing and Investigation (ISTI) procedures and the regulations of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
The IADO ensured that the entire process was carried out with the highest standards of confidentiality and sample integrity, as a manifestation of its commitment to fair and doping-free competition. Through its involvement in this national selection, IADO hoped that no violations of the list of prohibited substances as stated in the WADA Prohibited List 2025 will be found. In addition, this participation was also part of IADO’s efforts to improve the technical capacity and professionalism of the Sample Collection Personnel (SCP) team to face various international tournaments in the future.
