On Sunday, August 24th, 2025, the Maybank Bali Marathon, an annual elite road race from World Athletics, was officially launched and flagged off by the President Director of Maybank Indonesia Mr. Steffano Ridwan at the Bali United Training Center, Purnama Beach, Gianyar Regency. This 14th edition of the event attracted 13,600 runners from 52 countries, competing in the Marathon (42K), Half Marathon (21K), 10K, and special categories of Wheelchair and Children’s Sprint. The race route began at the Bali United Training Center.
In support of the Clean Sport movement, the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) participated as the Sample Collection Authority (SCA). The entire doping control process ran smoothly, and sample collection was carried out in accordance with the Mission Order. IADO maintained the integrity of the process by ensuring the confidentiality of athlete identities, security and traceability of samples through the implementation of a strict chain of custody, in line with the World Anti-Doping Code.
