Jakarta, 5 November 2025

On November 5th, 2025 IADO in collaboration with the Indonesian Karate-Do Sports Federation (PB FORKI), held an anti-doping education and whereabouts socialization for karate athletes. The event was held at the Belleza Suite Hotel in Jakarta as part of an effort to increase athlete awareness and compliance with anti-doping regulations prior to the 2025 SEA Games. The event began with remarks from the Indonesian Karate Coach Coordinator Mr. Puang Syamsudin, who emphasized that all athletes are required to fill out their whereabouts forms correctly and update their data regularly. He also emphasized the importance of avoiding the use of prohibited substances listed on the Prohibited List, as a commitment to maintaining sportsmanship and the integrity of national sports.

Following the opening ceremony, the event continued with a pre-test, followed by a presentation of anti-doping materials, including an overview of anti-doping, the Prohibited List, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), and a guide to completing whereabouts. The material was delivered by Mr. Rifaldi, a member of the IADO Testing Directorate, accompanied by Miss. Weliza from the IADO Secretariat. Eighteen athletes, four coaches and two support staff, participated in the event. Participants enthusiastically and seriously participated in the series of events, recognizing the importance of knowledge about anti-doping and whereabouts as a prerequisite for qualifying for the 2025 SEA Games.

Athletes were also reminded to complete the e-learning course on the ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning) platform to obtain a certificate, which is a prerequisite for participation in this international event. Through that activity, IADO and PB FORKI hoped that athletes will become more compliant with anti-doping regulations and have a better understanding of the 11 anti-doping rule violations (ADRVs). The activity concluded with a post-test and an interactive discussion session, where participants actively asked various questions and discussed the implementation of anti-doping regulations in the Karate national training environment.
