Jakarta, 4 February 2026

As a follow-up to the meeting between IADO and ISNA (Indonesian Sport Nutritionist Association) on January 12th, 2026, an MoU was signed between IADO (signed directly by IADO Chairman Mr Gatot S. Dewa Broto) and ISNA (Indonesian Sport Nutritionist Association) Chairwoman Dr. Mirza Hapsari Sakti Titis Penggalih, S.Gz., MPH. The signing was attended not only by officials from both parties, but also by Miss Kerry Galhos from CND (Commissao Nacional do Desporto/National Sports Commission), who happened to be at the IADO office on February 3rd and 4th, 2026, to facilitate the meeting between the two NADOs.

The MoU between IADO and ISNA is significant, as it allows both parties to complement each other in educating the public about anti-doping, particularly regarding the nutritional ingredients consumed by athletes. Modified nutrition for doping generally refers to the use of specific, sometimes unconventional, dietary strategies or supplement regimens designed to enhance physical performance, accelerate recovery, or alter body composition, often in a way that mimics the effects of banned substances (such as anabolic steroids or EPO) or to enhance the effects of legal high-performance diets.

However, “modified nutrition” also often refers to the accidental or deliberate consumption of contaminated supplements that trigger a prohibited positive doping test. In fact, most doping cases are caused by the use of dietary supplements contaminated or mislabeled with prohibited substances. One study found that some (but not all) sports supplements are at high risk of containing undeclared doping substances. Therefore, through this collaboration, both IADO and ISNA will update and correct various information about prohibited substances (and vice versa) that needs to be communicated to relevant parties, especially certain athletes. In addition, soon, IADO and ISNA will launch an approximately 80-page anti-doping guidebook.
