Riau is the first province on the island of Sumatra to be the location for organizing an anti-doping education activities by IADO in cooperation with KONI, which was held on October 12th, 2022. Participants attending about 70 people, consisting of coaches, athletes, officials, and the medical team including a doctor from the sport team of the province of Riau, namely dr. Ruswaldi Munir Sp.KO. The number of participants of that event was more than the previous activity due to the results of the evaluation to increase the quota of participants. In that activity, the participants were more communicative and actively asked the speakers. Speakers from IADO were the Chairman of IADO, Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto, and Director of Education Ms. Natashya Marcellina Ardiany, and from the KONI represented by Mr. Erizal Chaniago.
However, the kind of questions raised by the participants in Pekanbaru were not much different from those in Samarinda, such as the procedures and SOPs for sampling carried out by the DCO (Doping Control Officer). Furthermore, they did not just ask questions but also shared about their experiences when accompanying athletes while sampling collection in the previous event. There was a concern raised by a coach regarding the quality of the activity, for what he wanted to get was only the real list of prohibited substances. To respond such critical concern, IADO then presented the real online information of list of prohibited substances available in 2 languages (English and Indonesian). He looked satisfied after that. Regarding a dubious question on the quality of DCO, IADO tried to convince them that the testing procedures at IADO are are getting better and more professional according to the existing SOPs, especially some of the DCOs have international licenses.
