Doping Control on the 2022 Borobudur Marathon

One of the most prestigious marathon events in Indonesia is Borobudur Marathon. The Event of Borobudur Marathon was originally created in 1990 by Mr. Bob Hasan by using the 10K organized on the surrounding area of the world’s biggest Buddhist temple, built on the 9th century near Magelang, Central Java. Based on its development, the event has been extended on its numbers of events and its various distances since 2016.

After break due to the pandemic Covid-19, the event was run again on 2021, and then 2022, which was conducted on November 12th and 13th, 2022 and followed by thousands of participants including from various countries among others from Kenya and Ethiopia. The number of disciplines consisted of for elite athletes for 42K, 10K followed by young athletes, and Half Marathon which was free for the public. On that occasion, IADO as TA (Testing Authority) assigned 2 DCOs and 2 Chaperons. They worked to get 4 samples from the winners of elite athletes.  As usual, after the event, IADO delivered the samples collection to the WADA-accredited laboratory in Bangkok.
