In the event of the 2024 National Sports Games (PON) XXI in Aceh – Northern Sumatra activities of doping control were conducted prior and during the event. One form of doping control that was carried out in addition to collecting samples was anti-doping education by carrying out anti-doping campaigns to participants who have been taking part in this 4-year sports multi event. Specifically in Aceh, the implementation of this anti-doping campaign was carried out from September 7th to 13th, 2024 at 5 sports venue points, namely Basketball (SHB Complex Multipurpose Building), Weightlifting (SHB Complex Beso Lift Building), Rowing (Keuliling Reservoir), Archery (SHB Complex Archery Field) and Field Tennis (SHB Complex Tennis Court).
The IADO Educator Team in cooperation with 5 Aceh Local Personnel who are all medical persons carried out anti-doping campaigns by dividing the Team into 2. A total of 469 participants, consisting of 337 Athletes, 57 Coaches, 24 Medical Teams and 51 other ASPs who had been netted in anti-doping campaign activities. The information conveyed was related to 11 Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) which are not tired of being reminded, considering that the majority of participants who competed are junior athletes who have just moved on to seniors so that this PON could be the first experience for Athletes against anti-doping. Not a few Athletes who participated in that anti-doping campaign were still very unfamiliar and even surprised at the sampling process where when urinating should be seen directly by the Doping Control Officer (DCO) because it was done to prove that urine did come out from the related – Athlete.
