After IADO held marathon meetings with various ministerial and non-ministerial institutions, KNIU (Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO), KONI (National Sports Committee of Indonesia), KOI (National Olympic Committee) and NPC (National Paralympic Committee) of Indonesia and immediately completed the questionnaire, finally on March 25th, 2025 IADO sent via email all the results of the questionnaire to Ms. Gabriela Ramos as Assistant Director General of UNESCO for Social and General Sciences. With the delivery of the questionnaire, one of IADO’s obligations to UNESCO headquarters has been completed. The completion of the questionnaire provided a valuable lesson for IADO, that IADO is not only focused on all of its series of obligations to WADA, but must also share focus on UNESCO, because if it is late or fails to complete it, the destructive impact can be very detrimental to Indonesia. Then on the following date, IADO submitted its complete report to the Minister of Youth and Sports on March 26th, 2025.
The main purpose of filling out the questionnaire was indeed solely intended to identify the extent of involvement of various government institutions of each UNESCO member country, especially those who had signed the International UNECO Convention against Doping in Sport on October 19th, 2005 in Paris and several years later, in assisting the performance of each NADO in their country. Especially for Indonesia, which also committed through the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 101 of 2007 concerning the Ratification of the International UNECO Convention against Doping in Sport, the involvement of the Indonesian Government is considered by UNESCO to be quite proportional and is expected to continue in carrying out synergy with IADO to overcome the increasingly complicated challenges of doping.
