Nusa Dua – Bali, 23 June 2025
Indonesia successfully organized the Asian Fencing Championships (AFC) 2025, which took place at the Bali International Convention Center, the Westin Resort and Hotel Nusa Dua, Bali. This largest fencing championship in Asia received positive attention due to its smooth and festive organization. The championship was officially opened on the evening of June 17 th, 2025, by the President of the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) Mr. Sheik Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi. This event took place from June 17th to June 23rd, 2025, and involved 430 athletes from 27 countries. The championship was part of the official point collection pathway toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, in accordance with the calendar of the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime (FIE) and the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA).
As the Testing Authority (TA), Sample Collection Authority (SCA), and Results Management (RMA), IADO assigned three Doping Control Officers (DCO) and one Chaperone to control the entire sample collection process, adhering to the procedures established in the International Standard for Testing and Investigation (ISTI) as well as the regulations of the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime (FIE) regarding the rights and responsibilities of athletes. IADO guaranteed that the process was conducted while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the samples, as a commitment to fair competition free from doping.
Through that initiative, IADO wished that there will be no violations of the prohibited substances list as outlined in the International Standard Prohibited List WADA 2025. Additionally, IADO’s participation in this prestigious event was part of an effort to enhance the technical capacity and professionalism of SCP IADO in preparation for other international tournaments in the future.
