The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), in collaboration with the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO), organized an Anti-Doping Education Seminar on July 9th, 2025, at the PBSI Multipurpose Hall in Cipayung, Jakarta. That event was a PBSI initiative as a manifestation of its commitment to developing a generation of young athletes who are clean from doping. The event was attended by 32 young PBSI athletes, one doctor, and two athlete support staff (ASPs). PBSI emphasized that all its athletes, especially those with high talent and potential at the national and international levels, are compulsory to understand the dangers of doping and the importance of maintaining sportivity in competition.
The seminar was divided into two main sessions. The first session was Anti-Doping Education, presented by Dr. Merryana Seputri, an educator who graduated from the PRESI program from the IADO Education Directorate. This session began with a pre-test, then continued with the presentation of material on the dangers and impacts of doping, and concluded with a post-test to measure participants’ understanding. Then, the second session was the presentation of Whereabouts material (Athlete’s Whereabouts), presented by Mr. Rifaldi from the IADO Testing Directorate. Both sessions received high enthusiasm from the participants because they discussed the obligation to fill in Whereabouts data by athletes included in the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) or Testing Pool (TP). The information is very important to support the implementation of out-of-competition sampling (OOCT), which can be done without notice. The seminar was interactive and conducive, with many questions from athletes who demonstrated their seriousness in understanding and complying with anti-doping regulations. The event closed with a question-and-answer session that provided space for open discussion between participants and speakers. Through that seminar, it was hoped that young PBSI athletes will not only fulfill their achievements, but also uphold the integrity and spirit of a sport that is clean from doping.
