Jakarta, 13 August 2025

IADO in collaboration with the Indonesian Shooting Association (PERBAKIN), held a Whereabouts socialization and anti-doping education event on August 13th, 2025, at the PERBAKIN Shooting Range Multipurpose Building in Central Jakarta. That event was a crucial step in preparing high-achieving athletes for the SEA Games and various international sport events, as all competing athletes are required to have an ADEL (Anti-Doping Education and Learning Platform) certificate and to complete the Whereabouts form through the Athlete Central app.

The event was attended by the PERBAKIN Executive Chairman, five coaches, and 54 shooting athletes. The socialization was opened with remarks from the PERBAKIN Executive Chairman, Brigadier General (Ret.) Siswanto, S.H., who emphasized the importance of athlete awareness of anti-doping regulations. The socialization was delivered by Mr. Rifaldi, a member of the IADO Testing Directorate, and began with a pre-test to assess participants’ initial knowledge. The first session discussed the scope of anti-doping and the basic knowledge required of athletes. The next session explained in detail the Whereabouts requirements for athletes in the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) and Testing Pool (TP).

Filling out Whereabouts through Athlete Central facilitates any NADO (in this case, IADO) in the process of collecting samples and locating athletes for unannounced doping tests (OOCT). That obligation is crucial to prevent athletes from being penalized for Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs), particularly for failing to fill out Whereabouts. The Q&A session was interactive, with many athletes asking about, among other things, prohibited substances and their use, Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) procedures, and the widespread advertising of drugs and supplements labeled “doping-free” on social media. That phenomenon was a significant concern for the IADO, because the lack of accurate information can mislead athletes if not properly verified.

That activity did not only increase athletes’ understanding of anti-doping regulations but also served as an educational campaign to foster a generation of high-achieving, doping-free young athletes who will comply with Whereabouts and maintain the integrity of the sport. The event was concluded with a post-test and an enthusiastic Q&A session. IADO hoped that this activity will raise awareness and concern among shooting athletes to always comply with anti-doping rules in every competition.
