IADO, in collaboration with the Indonesian Rowing Association (PB PODSI), conducted anti-doping education and whereabouts socialization activities for canoe and dragon boat athletes. The activities took place on October 9th, 2025 at the National Rowing Training Center Mess, Jatiluhur Reservoir, Purwakarta, Western Java. The activities aimed to increase athletes’ understanding of the importance of complying with anti-doping regulations, particularly regarding completing whereabouts, which was mandatory for every athlete in the testing pool. During the event, the IADO also provided a detailed explanation of various violations resulting from failure to complete the whereabouts schedule.
The event opened with remarks from Coach Canoe Mr. Roinadi, who emphasized that all athletes are required to consistently complete their whereabouts forms and refrain from using prohibited substances listed on the Prohibited List. He also encouraged athletes to continuously update their whereabouts data in preparation for major events, including the upcoming SEA Games. The educational session continued with a pre-test and presentation covering an overview of anti-doping, the Prohibited List, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), and completing whereabouts forms. The presentation was delivered by Mr. Rifaldi, a member of the IADO Testing Directorate, accompanied by Mr. Rapawuli from the IADO Secretariat Team.
The activity was attended by 38 athletes, accompanied by one coach and one support staff member from PB PODSI. All participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and commitment throughout the event, recognizing the importance of anti-doping knowledge for the SEA Games and the requirement to complete e-learning through the ADEL platform to obtain a certificate, which was a prerequisite for the upcoming SEA Games. Through that activity, IADO and PB PODSI hoped that athletes would become more disciplined in adhering to anti-doping regulations and understand the 11 types of anti-doping violations. The event concluded with a post-test and an interactive discussion session, which featured numerous questions from participants.
