Jakarta, 27 October 2025
After successfully securing agreements with approximately 75 sports organizations in Indonesia from mid-2022 to mid-2025, IADO has for the first time received a request from APKI (Indonesian Fitness Trainers Association) to establish a partnership. That was initially marked by the signing of an MoU on October 27th, 2025, at the IADO office. The signing was carried out by Mr. Jansen Ongko Sutrisno (Chairman of APKI) and Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto (Chairman of IADO). IADO fully understands that, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code, like NADOs in general, IADO focuses more on the potential use of prohibited substances and / or other forms of anti-doping violations applicable to competitive sporting activities.
However, it cannot be denied that the World Anti-Doping Code still pays attention to recreational sports (now better known in Indonesia as community sports) as far as it depends on the conditions and based on the request of each event organizer. So even though the collaboration with APKI is more focused on anti-doping education activities than sample collection, IADO remains open to the possibility of being asked to conduct any sample collection at any time with the condition that it is entirely the responsibility of the association and / or event organizer because it is not mandatory. IADO sincerely hopes that this collaboration will encourage the growing awareness in the world of fitness sports about the importance of vigilance against the use of prohibited substances.
