On September 5th, 2025, the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) officially accepted an invitation from the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) to participate in On-Site Doping Control Officer (DCO) Training and hands-on practice at the Deaflympics Tokyo 2025. JADA invited one of IADO’s Doping Control Officers (DCOs), Dr. Giri Prayogo, M.Pd., to participate in the training and field assignments, which took place from November 21st to 25th, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan. The Deaflympics was an international multi-sport event for athletes with hearing disabilities, organized by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD). The competition was one of the oldest international sporting events in the world, after the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The On-Site DCO Training program aimed to improve the competence and expertise of doping control officers, particularly in handling testing at large-scale international sporting events. Through this training, participants were expected to deepen their technical and operational understanding of the sampling process in accordance with international standards. Therefore, IADO Chairman Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto expressed his appreciation for this opportunity. He stated that the invitation demonstrated IADO’s international recognition of its quality and commitment to improving the professionalism of doping control officers. “This opportunity is crucial for strengthening the competence of Indonesian DCOs, particularly in preparing for future international events,” he said.

The program was part of JADA’s support for the development of anti-doping standards in the Asian region, while also strengthening coordination between countries and regional anti-doping organizations. IADO hopes this participation will positively impact the quality of doping testing in Indonesia and expand its international network.
