On December 9, 2025, the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) hosted an academic visit from first-semester students of the Sports Medicine Specialist Program, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FK UI). That activity was part of a learning program aimed at introducing the national anti-doping system and broadening the prospective specialist physicians’ understanding of the importance of implementing clean sport principles in sports medicine services.
The visit began with an explanation of the structure and mandate of anti-doping in Indonesia, including the role of IADO as an independent institution responsible for conducting testing, education, and enforcing regulations in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code. Students also received an explanation of the role of medical personnel in doping prevention, from consultations on the use of medications and supplements for athletes to awareness.
During the discussion session, participants actively asked questions related to Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), the process of handling laboratory test results, and the challenges of implementing anti-doping in the field. That interaction provided a practical understanding of how healthcare professionals can contribute to maintaining sports integrity and athlete safety.
Through that visit, the IADO hoped that more healthcare professionals will understand the importance of early anti-doping education, so they could become strategic partners in strengthening a culture of clean sports in Indonesia. The IADO also expressed its appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FK UI) for its ongoing collaboration in enhancing academic and professional capacity in the field of sports medicine.
