From December 11th to 13th, 2025, IADO held a series of internal meetings specifically to discuss improving the organization’s financial governance. The meetings were attended by all IADO Management, and in certain sessions, the Inspector of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with a member of his staff, and two representatives from the Assistant Deputy for Sports Personnel and Organization Development, were present. The importance of these meetings was evident in the condition of IADO’s poor financial performance in the 2024 fiscal year, as evidenced by the poor financial performance report, audited by both the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). IADO was even forced to return a significant amount of money to the state due to these findings.
Indeed, the IADO acknowledged that 2025 was a very difficult and long period, not only because the government budget was only disbursed in September 2025 in a very limited amount, but also because IADO employees did not receive their normal salaries until September 2025. This condition was exacerbated by IADO’s poor financial performance in 2024, which naturally caused disappointment for the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Several IADO employees were forced to be laid off and some even deliberately resigned. These incidents pushed the IADO to be more careful in managing its finances. In addition, it was a lesson for the IADO, not only to focus on securing against the potential threat of WADA sanctions, but also to improve financial governance in an accountable manner and in accordance with applicable regulations.
