Jakarta, 11 January 2024
198 Days to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) has coordinated with the Indonesian National Olympic Committee (NOC) on the preparation of Anti-Doping Education prior the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. That cooperation aims to ensure all Indonesian athletes who have qualified for this year’s Olympics which takes place on July 26th to – August 11th, 2024 would have obtained certificate of ADEL (Anti-Doping Education eLearning Platform). For such purpose, IADO plans to reintroduce anti-doping education using the ADEL platform with a newly published e-learning course for athletes and coaches who will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The new course aims to provide athletes and coaches with an understanding of anti-doping rules, procedures and requirements during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including information on the 2024 Prohibited List, how to provide whereabouts information, and an explanation of athletes’ rights and responsibilities during the testing process.
At the same time, WADA also published the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Anti-Doping Rules for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which were adopted from the 2021 World Anti-Doping Code and WADA’s International Standards. These rules will apply during the period of the 2024 Olympic Games from opening to closing ceremony. IADO began initial coordination with the Indonesian NOC through a notification letter to ensure that qualified athletes have received anti-doping education in accordance with international standards for education from WADA before the 2024 Olympics is held both online and offline so that anti-doping education obtained by athletes can be applied properly.
