For the preparation of the upcoming Jakarta PORPROV (Provincial Sports Games) and the Jakarta POPPROV (Provincial Student Sports Games), which will be commenced on August 4th, 2025, at the Soemantri Brodjonegoro Sports Hall in Kuningan, South Jakarta, and be organized until August 8th, 2025, a representative from the Organizing Committees of both events in Jakarta met with IADO on July 28th, 2025. The purpose of the coordination meeting was to obtain information and support from the IADO for doping control during the PORPROV and POPPROV. Plans for the POPNAS (National Student Sports Games) and PEPARPENAS (National Paralympic Student Sports Games) to be held in Jakarta were also discussed.
Despite the tight deadline, IADO remains responsive and cooperative with the doping control plan for the two events and the upcoming POPNAS (National Sports Games). For the IADO, doping control for POPNAS is nothing new, having previously participated in the 2023 POPNAS in Palembang. However, during the 2023 POPNAS, IADO’s activities were limited to anti-doping education through several IADO educational booths, which attracted the attention of many POPNAS athletes seeking information. Further coordination is still needed regarding the form of doping control for the PORPROV and POPPROV in Jakarta, which are only a few days away. However, at least an agreement has been reached on the form of anti-doping education and has not yet led to sample collection.
