The Executive Board of the Athletics Federation of Indonesia (PB PASI) organized the 2026 National Athletics Championships & Indonesia U18 Open Championships, held from June 27th to 30th, 2026, at the Rawamangun Athletics Stadium in East Jakarta. Approximately 1,000 athletes from various Indonesian provinces participated in this national championship. The U18 category was once again held as an “Open Championship,” featuring young athletes from four Southeast Asian nations: Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Timor-Leste.

The championship was opened by PB PASI Chairman Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Erick Thohir, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Mr. Anggito Abimanyu. Continuing the trend from the previous year, the 2026 National Athletics Championships were listed on the World Athletics Global Calendar and designated as a World Rankings Competition. This status ensures that competition results count toward world ranking points and creates greater opportunities for Indonesian athletes to qualify for various international championships.

The event featured competitions across three age categories for both men and women: U16 (22 events), U18 Open (33 events), and U20 (33 events). The Indonesian Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) participated as the Testing Authority (TA), implementing a doping testing program to uphold the integrity of the competition and support the promotion of “clean sport.” Through the implementation of this doping testing program at the 2026 National Athletics Championships & Indonesia U18 Open Championships, IADO reaffirmed its commitment to supporting fair, clean, and principled sports competitions while strengthening the culture of clean sport in Indonesia.
