Jakarta, May 17th, 2022
NADO of Indonesia was suspended on October 7th, 2021, which then followed by the following one on October 20th, 2021, describing among others that LADI structure and independence were not in line with the Code.
One of the most challenging duties was to provide WADA all of the regulations relating to duties of LADI, from the Sports Act, Government Regulations to Decrees of Minister, enabling WADA to review totally. For example, the previous Sports Act put the government having the right to control LADI, violating the Code. The Government of Republic of Indonesia then totally agreed to review the Act, including to delete the right of the government to control LADI and other articles violating the Code.
Finally, the new Sports Act was agreed by the House of Representatives on February 16th, 2022 and then signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. However, IADO on May 17th, 2022 sent the official letter to WADA responding with 47 items questioned by WADA. Objectively and generally, the purpose of WADA to monitor and review IADO’s structure, rule and activities were fully understandable for complying with the Code. Since then, IADO tried to do the best on all fields.
