Jakarta, December 10th, 2022
On December 10th, 2022, IADO held its first webinar of 2022 on TUE. That webinar was a follow-up to the previous TUE Seminar last October. IADO worked closely with PPKORI (Indonesian Sport Healthy Supervisors Association) for that webinar. The TUE allows athletes to participate in sports while using drugs or treatment methods these are actually prohibited according to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s Prohibited List. On that occasion the TUE Committee also explained the latest updates regarding TUE 2023. The Prohibited List 2023 has been slightly reviewed by WADA and will be released on January 1st, 2023.
The substance Tramadol made headlines on the 2023 Prohibited List, as it is a new substance to be added to the list of prohibited substances. At the end of the webinar, the speakers answered questions from the participants directly. The most frequently asked questions include “Who should apply for a TUE?”, “Can I get a retroactive TUE?”, “What are the criteria for awarding a TUE, and how long does it take?”, “Where and when can athletes register” and many more. This webinar activity was attended by 60 participants consisting of paramedics.
