South East Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organization (SEARADO) successfully hosted the Asia-Oceania Anti-Doping Education Symposium 2023 with the theme “International Standard for Education (ISE) in Action: Implementing Theory into Practice with a Purpose” on July 26th and 27th, 2023 in Singapore. The event was opened by Mr. Edwin Tong as Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law of Singapore. On the first day of that activity, the Global Perspective for Clean Sport Education explained directly by the Head, Research and Policy of WADA, Mr. Tony Cunningham.

Then the most emphasized on the first day was to create awareness of anti-doping on the athlete pathway so that it would be easier in terms of providing education if athletes were aware of their responsibilities as athletes to comply with anti-doping. On the second day, that activity emphasized more on the implementation of the International Standard for Education on providing anti-doping education to athletes with various methods, as well as monitoring and evaluation that must be carried out to make the education program develop and be effective. Then there was a panel discussion session inviting former international athletes who explained how the experience of being an athlete and his involvement in anti-doping education. The symposium was not only attended by members from Southeast Asia but also NADOs in Asia & Oceania.
