Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) was once again trusted in the famous badminton event of Daihatsu Indonesia Master 2024 held at Istora Senayan, Gelora Bung Karno Stadium Complex of Jakarta on January 23rd to 28th, 2024. That tournament was part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 and also the Race to Olympic tournament which pointed count for the 2024 Paris Olympics. More than 190 athletes from around the world competed and showcased world-class competition at that annual event.
IADO participated as the Sample Collection Authority (SCA) by assigning 3 Doping Control Officers (DCO) and 2 Chaperones to be in charge in that prestigious event. The IADO SCP (sample collection personnel) successfully collected samples in accordance with the Testing Order issued by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) as the Testing Authority (TA) by ensuring the privacy and integrity of athletes’ samples. The entire sample collection process was carried out in accordance with the International Standard for Testing and Investigation (ISTI) and also the BWF sample collection process regarding the rights and obligations of athletes. IADO hoped that no athlete would be tested for prohibited substances in competition as stipulated in WADA’s International Standard Prohibited List 2023.
IADO also hoped that that regular collaboration between IADO and BWF can also improve the technical skills of IADO SCPs and certainly add to the list of experience and competence of IADO SCPs to face other international events so that it is expected to motivate SCPs to continue to improve their competence as SCPs.
