The Faculty of Sports Science at the Universitas Negeri Jakarta held an Anti-Doping Seminar entitled “Anti-Doping Education for the Young Generation.” On the occasion, organized on June 26th, 2024 invited IADO to be the keynote speaker. The aim of this activity was to provide a form of current update of the course on the Science of Disease and Drug Addiction by the lecturer in charge of the course, namely Dr. Bazzar Ari Mighra, Sp.N. IADO was represented by Mrs. Natashya Marcellina Ardiany, S.Pd, S.M, MA as IADO Director of Education. She was present on the 3rd floor of the Universitas Negeri Jakarta Sports Building. In her presentation, she stated that anti-doping education is a strategy to prevent doping violations. These needs to be continued and not only given to athletes but also to all those who come into contact with athletes, such as those attending the activity. Those attending the occasion were undergraduate students at the Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, who also needed to receive anti-doping education.

Some of them consisted of active athletes, former athletes, and also Athlete Support Personnel (ASP). During that activity, the participants were also told that they must continue to educate athletes about sanctions and, of course, the health risks of doping. These are the main reasons why anti-doping rules exist in the first place. In essence, anti-doping is necessary to protect the health of athletes and to maintain clean, doping-free sport. In addition, it was also explained how to find out about the doping content, namely through a WADA Prohibited List and by communicating with a doctor, not by chance. Furthermore, it explained how if an athlete needs to use or consume something containing doping for urgent medical reasons, he or she can obtain a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) with the help of a doctor. The IADO also conducted a pre- and post-test for participants to assess the extent to which they have improved their understanding of anti-doping education.
