IADO was again trusted in the 2024 U-16, U-18 and Indonesia Open National Athletics Championships which were held at the Mandal Krida Stadium, Yogyakarta. That event was organized from July 20th to 24th, July 2024 and was opened directly by the Chairman of PASI (Indonesian Athletics Association) Mr. Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. For information, that championship was an annual agenda of PASI which was participated in by 38 provinces and 7 countries.
On one part of his speech, Mr. Luhut said that the National Athletics Championship is not only a competition, but it is also an event to develop mentality and see the potency of young athletes. It was hoped that this National Championship would result in superior and outstanding athletes.
IADO on that events participated as a Testing Authority (TA) and appointed 2 Doping Control Officers (DCO) and 2 Chaperones to serve in that prestigious annual athletics event in Indonesia in accordance with the International Standard for Testing and Investigation (ISTI) and also the related sample collection process athlete’s rights and obligations.
At this event, the IADO DCO and Chaperone were able to complete the sample collection task properly in accordance with the Testing Order given by IADO. With very good coordination between PB PASI and IADO, the doping test was carried out well and successfully. It is hoped that cooperation between PB. PASI with IADO can be implemented continuously both during competition and outside of competition so that the credibility of athletes in athletics in Indonesia can be properly accounted for.
