Jakarta, 27 July 2024
The Indonesian Aerosport Federation (FASI) on July 27th, 2024 invited IADO to participate in the activities of the Aeromodelling Committee Work Programme. FASI 2024 conducted Aeromodelling Coaches Certification, through Zoom Meeting. In that activity, speaker from IADO, the Director of Education, Mrs. Natashya Marcellina Ardiany, S.Pd, S.M, MA also introduced 3 educational videos on anti-doping, consisting of explanations on 11 anti-doping violations (ADRVs) and their consequences, then on the Prohibited List, which was intended to explain how to identify doping substances, and the third was a video explanation on TUE. The activity involved coaches from all over Indonesia who are classified as Athlete Support Personnel (ASP). The role of the coach in anti-doping education is very essential, in order to support strategies to prevent doping violations, which is the aim of anti-doping education in accordance with the current World Anti-Doping Code.
The presentation of anti-doping educational videos has recently become an educational tool for IADO. IADO hoped that this educational video can be widely distributed to other stakeholders so that education does not stop at each event session, but could be extended with engaging videos that are understandable and could be re-learned by participants. In addition to showing educational videos, IADO also introduced an e-learning anti-doping education method from WADA, ADEL (Anti-Doping Education & Learning), which can be accessed free of charge and provides comprehensive learning. At the end of the session, IADO also provided an evaluation form for participants to fill in. As with other training activities, this was used as an evaluation for IADO. Moreover, FASI also said that they welcome activities like this, so they intend to conduct anti-doping education activities that target Indonesian aeromodelling athletes later on.
