The Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI), in collaboration with the Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO), held an anti-doping education on September 9th, 2025, along with education on activating and completing whereabouts for esports athletes. That event was a follow-up to PBESI’s official invitation letter in preparation for the upcoming 2025 SEA Games.
The education event, held in the Meeting Room of the JW Marriott Hotel in Kuningan, South Jakarta, was attended by 24 athletes, accompanied by a doctor, coach, physiotherapist, and other support staff. In its remarks, PBESI emphasized that all athletes in the national training camp were required to have an ADAMS account and consistently complete their whereabouts. Coaches and assistants were also expected to understand the provisions and requirements related to anti-doping as part of their preparation for the SEA Games.
The series of activities were began with a pre-test, followed by anti-doping material presented by Mr. Rifaldi from the IADO Testing Directorate. The material included a general introduction (overview), the Prohibited Substances List, Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), and practical exercises for activating an ADAMS account and filling in whereabouts.
The participants demonstrated high enthusiasm, demonstrated by numerous questions and interactive discussions. Athletes increasingly recognized the importance of understanding anti-doping in preparing for major international events. Furthermore, athletes were required to complete e-learning on the WADA “ADEL” platform. Upon completion, they received a certificate, which is one of the requirements for qualifying for the 2025 SEA Games.
PBESI and IADO hoped that the activity would improve athletes’ compliance with anti-doping regulations and their avoidance of the 11 established violations. The activity concluded with a post-test and discussion session, further strengthening athletes’ awareness of the importance of integrity and sportsmanship in competition.
