As part of IADO’s commitment to full compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code, the Integrity Pact for the IADO TUE Committee was signed on April 14, 2026, at the IADO office directly following the TUE socialization event. This document signing was not the first, as it was previously held in 2022 with nearly the same IADO Committee personnel. The signatories were Dr. Arie Sutopo, Sp.KO (Chair of the IADO TUE Committee), Dr. Astri Indah Prameswari, Sp.PKR, FISR (member of the IADO TUE Committee), and Dr. Mayorita Ponggawa, Sp.PD (member of the IADO TUE Committee). This formation has undergone personnel changes, as previously until 2024, Dr. Sophia Benedicta Hage, Sp.KO, was replaced by Dr. Astri Indah Prameswari, Sp.PKR, FISR.

For NADOs in general, signing the Integrity Pact is crucial (as is the case for other IADO personnel). It aims to avoid conflicts of interest while on duty and ensures that they carry out their duties independently without interference from any party (including the IADO President). Furthermore, they can separate their position from the athlete whose TUE application is being reviewed by the TUE Committee. In other words, the TUE Committee’s work is accountable, credible, independent, and does not represent any particular interests. Violations of this principle can lead to lengthy proceedings, potentially leading to WADA reprimands for an NADO.

To date, there have been no complaints from Indonesian national sports stakeholders regarding the performance of the TUE Committee, and they acknowledge its credibility based on the competence of its personnel. However, it is acknowledged that TUE regulations are now stricter and more dynamic, leaving the IADO TUE Committee no choice but to continually update its capabilities. Therefore, it is regrettable that sports have not yet fully recognized the importance of TUEs, despite the IADO’s openness to providing opportunities.
