Jakarta, February 26th, 2023.

Indonesian Cycling Federation (ISSI) in cooperation with UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) organized the Union Cycliste Internationale Track Nations Cup 2023. The event was conducted from February 23rd to 26th, 2023 at Cycling Venue of Velodrome Rawamangun, Jakarta.

That event was a world championship which was followed by 44 countries and participated by approximately 400 riders. UCI acting as the Testing Authority provided a mission order of 28 samples and appointed ITA (International Testing Agency) as the Sampel Collection Authority in cooperation with IADO to back up as chaperone and witness. IADO on that event assigned 12 chaperones (6 male and 6 female persons) and 1 nurse. They had duties to be witnesses in providing assistance for DCOs from ITA. Furthermore, Chaperones of IADO were assigned to make notification to any selected athlete for sample collection, whereas a female nurse was compulsory to help DCO for witnessing female sample collection. On the other side, any male sample collection was handled by doctor Faisal from the event organizing committee as the male.

All of the collected samples were then stored in a secured refrigerator at a certain controlled storage temperature (2 – 5 °C) on a DCS (Doping Control Station). These samples were then finally sent to IADO’s office prior to being dispatched to the WADA-accredited anti-doping laboratory in Bangkok. That collaboration between DCO of ITA and Chaperones of IADO showed very well, in which DCOs of ITA highly appreciated the performance of Chaperones of IADO. There are lots of experiences from that doping control, because they used DCO Central system prioritizing paperless without any manual written document. Such a mechanism should be considered.
