The province of North Sumatera (and the province of Aceh), which will be the host for the upcoming 2024 PON, finally had the opportunity to be the host of the anti-doping education by IADO with KONI on November 9th, 2022 with a total of 70 participants from various sport programs consisting of on athletes, coaches and administrators as well as doctors. In this activity there was a question by one of the participants which was also agreed to by some participants, ”If athletes get notification, is it because they are detected to have violated doping?”.
In responding, Director of Education of IADO explained that quoting from the explanations obtained during the 2022 WADA Global Education Forum activity in Sydney, it was mentioned when athlete is notified and undergoes doping testing, the athlete has participated in clean sports. So, the athlete must be proud and not pressured. This was conveyed by the Director General of WADA, Olivier Niggli in his presentation. Therefore, IADO hopes that that activity could create a clean sport perspective for sports stakeholders.
