PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia) just completed the first stage of an Extra Ordinary Congress on February 16th, 2023. Main agenda of the Congress was to elect a new chairman, vice chairmen, executive committees of PSSI. The Congress officially opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia Mr Zainudin Amali was organized very successfully, democratically and transparently which was also attended by all voters and representatives of IOC, FIFA, OCA and AFC.  As it was announced to the public, Mr. Erick Thohir was elected to be the winner, and automatically to be the new chairman of PSSI replacing Mr.  Mohammad Iriawan (who is often called Mr. Iwan Bule).

IADO as one of the strategic partners for all National Sport Federation in Indonesia (including to KONI, NOC and NPC) expressed its special congratulation to Mr. Erick Thohir. IADO wished PSSI under a new chairman would be better, obtain significant achievement, manage better youth talented development and the most important one would be there would be nor football players or their athlete support personnel violating anti-doping regulations stipulated by World Anti-Doping Agency. Such wishing should be highlighted, because football is the most popular sports in Indonesia and even over the world. It would be ridiculous if the popularity of football were contaminated by the use of prohibited substances so called doping.

In addition, IADO is very serious to increase its performance not only to strongly encourage all elite athletes and their athlete support personnel not to violate the Code, but it also strongly increases its so called internal good organization governance of IADO to comply with World Anti-Doping Code. It is the reason for IADO to fully comply with and obey all of the regulations stipulated by WADA, because if IADO fails to comply with the Code, all of international sport events hosted and organized in Indonesia would be threatened by WADA to be suspended such it occurred on the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2022, including FIFA U-20 World Cup (on May and June 2023), FIBA World Cup (on August and September 2023) and ANOC World Beach Games (on August 2023).

For the preparation of FIFA U-20 World Cup, Manager of FIFA Anti-Doping Mr Daniel Thomas Kim hosted a virtual meeting on February 9th, 2023 with IADO, represented by Chairman, Secretary General and Head of Planning Bureau of IADO. The meeting was a follow up of the previous meeting between PSSI (represented by Deputy Secretary General of PSSI Mrs. Maaike Ira Puspita) on January 29th, 2023 at IADO’s office and the letters sent by PSSI to IADO on January 29th, 2023 and February 6th, 2023.

Principally, IADO confirmed to PSSI that IADO is very pleased to back up any doping control activity on that event whatsoever any kind of assignment requested by FIFA. The environment of discussion was very fruitful, since it enabled both sides to share their information. Mr. Daniel mentioned that FIFA will kindly invite 6 DCOs from IADO, in which at the beginning IADO should provide the CV’s possible candidates of the proposed DCOs (IADO has international, qualified and sufficient DCOs). Those candidates should fulfil certain strict requirements. Furthermore, he underlined that Testing Authority (TA), Sample Collection Authority (SCA) and Result Management Authority (RMA) will be handled by FIFA. Each DCO from IADO will be assigned in each city where the venue is used for the event.
