IADO once again participated in doping control in the Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship 2023, held on December 12th to 15th, 2023 at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Senayan Jakarta. Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship 2023 itself competed in 5 (five) sports, namely swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming, and master swimming.
That annual aquatics event was officially opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by the Assistant Deputy for Sports Personnel and Organizations, Mr. Dr. Mohammad Aziz Ariyanto, S.Pd., M.Pd and was followed by a total of 951 athletes, including the Indonesian Diaspora who this year also participated in IOAC 2023, such as from the United States to Germany. IOAC 2023 was also a qualifying event for PON (National Sports Games) 2024 in Aceh – North Sumatra which will compete for 118 athlete positions in 30 competition numbers.
IADO cooperated with the Indonesia Swimming Federation) or AI in doping control in the competition. The Sample Collection Personnel (SCPs) that IADO has assigned as the Testing Authority successfully collected samples in accordance with the Testing Order while maintaining integrity that ensures the confidentiality, security, and identity of the samples. The Indonesian Aquatics initiative to invite IADO in that competition was the right move for the realization of a doping-free competition and contributes to zero doping at the PON 2024 Aceh – North Sumatera.
