Doping Control on the 2024 Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship

Indonesia hosted the 2024 Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship which was successfully held on January 5th to 18th, 2024 at the Shooting Venue of Senayan, Jakarta. The event was officially opened by the Vice President of Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) Mr. Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud and attended by the Chairman of PB Perbakin, Lieutenant General (Retired) Joni Supriyanto, Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Dito Ariotedjo, Honorary President of ASC H.E. Kuo Chung Hsing, Chairman of KONI represented by Vice Chairman I Major General (Retired) Dr. Suwarno, and other figures. The 2024 Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship was a qualifying event that competed for 16 quotas for the 2024 Paris Olympics. A total of 29 countries participated in the event, which involved more than 500 athletes. The 29 countries included Bangladesh, Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Taipei, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen.

IADO also participated in the grand event organized by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). ISSF coordinated hand in hand cooperation with IADO in doping control of 16 match numbers within the Asian Rifle and Pistol Championship 2024. As Testing Authority, ISSF issued a Testing Order which was then implemented in accordance with international standards by Sample Collection Personnel from IADO as Sample Collection Authority. IADO successfully collected the samples in accordance with the Testing Order while maintaining the integrity that ensures the confidentiality, security and identity of the samples.
