As part of the further coordination related to anti-doping supervision for the 21st PON (National Sports Games), KONI hosted a meeting attended by IADO Team on January 17th, 2024 at KONI’s Office. PON itself will be organized on September 2024 in Aceh and Northern Sumatera. According to the information submitted by KONI on that meeting, until now there are 10 cities in the Province of Aceh, which are ready to be anti-doping education locations from Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar, Sabang, Pidie, North Aceh, East Aceh, Bener Meriah, Central Aceh, West Aceh, and Southeast Aceh. The total sports competing in the 21st PON in the Aceh region are 42 sport programs, in which majority of sport program will be competed in Banda Aceh. While Northern Sumatra consists of 9 cities including Medan, Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai, Pematang Siantar, Toba, Simalungun, Karo, Langkat , and Binjai. The total sports competing in the North Sumatra region are 40 sports.

IADO further explained that there should be clarification that anti-doping activities now do not relate to sample collection only, because according to the World Anti-Doping Code, it includes various activities consisting of testing, education, and others. IADO has planned (if KONI would have agreed it) to encourage KONI to oblige all athletes who will participate at the PON to have ADEL Certificate. In addition, IADO has appealed for a certain budget for anti-doping education, testing, investigation and intelligence, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE), Result Management Committee, and secretariat. One of the plans organized is to conduct sample control personnel training, educator training and recruitment, and intelligence training. That meeting was an excellent start as a form of cooperation between the Organizing Committee of PON, KONI and IADO, in order to realizing the 21st PON activities that are harmonious and cohesive for Indonesia.
