Jakarta, 8 May 2026

On May 7th, 2026, IADO submitted a report to Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Erick Thohir regarding the good news and appreciation from the OCA (Olympic Council of Asia). On May 5th, 2026, OCA sent a letter inviting IADO Education Director Mrs. Natashya Marcellina Ardiany to assist in anti-doping education (as a Clean Sport Ambassador) during the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, September 19th to October 4th, 2026, in which the OCA has the commitment fully to cover airfare, accommodation, and allowances.

That invitation to IADO personnel to serve at international sporting events means that there are more IADO personnel and institutional work units which have earned the international trust of WADA. The actual data is as follows:

  1. Two IADO Doping Control Officers (DCOs) have been invited by the 2021 SEA Games Organizing Committee in Hanoi to serve at the 2021 SEA Games, which was taken place from May 12th to 23rd, 2022, in Hanoi.
  2. Two IADO Doping Control Officers have been invited by the 2023 SEA Games Organizing Committee in Phnom Penh to serve at the 2023 SEA Games, which was taken place from May 5th to 17th, 2023, in Phnom Penh.
  3. Mrs. Natasya Marcellina Ardiany had been invited by SEARADO as a one of the speakers at the 2023 WADA Asia-Oceania Anti-Doping Education Symposium with the theme “International Standard for Education (ISE) in Action: Implementing Theory into Practice with a Purpose,” which will be held on July 26th and 27th, 2023, in Singapore.
  4. On March 13th, 2024, IADO received an appreciation from the WADA’s Director of Intelligence and Investigations, Mr. Günter Younger, on the sidelines of the 2024 WADA Annual Symposium in Lausanne, Switzerland. That appreciation was given because the IADO Intelligence and Investigation Directorate is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia and has contributed significantly to uncovering doping issues in Indonesia.
  5. On September 2nd, 2024, IADO received an appreciation from the WADA office in Tokyo and SEARADO for successfully completing the formation of the PRESI (Educational Presenter) on August 31st, 2024, consisting of 12 personnel selected from 282 prospective participants from across Indonesia who participated in the selection process for the position of PRESI. That IADO PRESI is the first in Southeast Asia where the planning for its formation was directly supervised by WADA.
  6. Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto (Chairman of IADO) was elected by acclamation as the Chairman of SEARADO for the 2025-2029 term at the SEARADO Meeting held on April 25th, 2025, in Bangkok, succeeding Dr. Patrick Goch from Singapore.
  7. WADA, for the first time, has provided IADO with the opportunity to host the GLDF (Global Learning and Development Framework) Asia-Oceania TUE Training in Jakarta from July 8th to 10th, 2025. The event, fully funded by WADA, was attended by 15 participants from 15 countries across Asia and Oceania (Indonesia was only permitted to send two personnel) and three instructors from WADA headquarters, USA, and Mexico. That was the first WADA event held in Indonesia since the establishment of the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency, and also the first in Southeast Asia.
  8. Mr. Giri Prayogo (IADO Testing Directorate Staff) has been invited by JADA (Japan Anti-Doping Agency) to serve as one of the DCOs in the Deaflympics (international multi-sport event for athletes with hearing disabilities) organized by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) on November 21st to 25th, 2025 in Tokyo. The competition was one of the oldest international sporting events in the world after the Olympics and Paralympics. The assignment was carried out after the DCO from IADO received On-Site DCO Training with 1 DCO each from Brunei Darussalam, Iraq and Turkmenistan to join around 50 DCOs from JADA. Furthermore, Mr. Giri Prayogo will also be assigned by the OCA or perhaps the APC (Asian Paralympic Committee) to serve as one of the DCOs in the 2026 Asian Games or perhaps in the 2026 Asian Para Games to be held in Nagoya – Japan.
  9. Mr. Rifaldi (IADO Testing Directorate Staff) has been invited by CHINADA (China Anti-Doping Agency) and the 2026 Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee to serve as one of the DCOs (along with 3 DCOs from Thailand, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan to join 69 DCOs from CHINADA). The assignment took place from April 22nd to 30th, 2026, in Sanya, China.
  10. IADO held a Re-Accreditation event for all DCOs and BCOs (Blood Collection Officers) on May 6th and 7th , 2026. The events, held by the IADO Testing Directorate in Jakarta and were attended by 42 IADO SCP (Sample Collection Personnel) participants. The re-accreditation event was not the first of its kind, as it previously took place on May 16th, 2022, in Jakarta (with instructors and assessors from SEARADO) and then on October 27th and 28th, 2024, in Jakarta (still with instructors and assessors from SEARADO). However, for the 2026 re-accreditation, the presence of foreign instructors and assessors from SEARADO was not mandatory, as IADO’s senior DCOs are recognized for their competence to international standards.

Despite the extremely limited budget over the past two years, IADO is committed to continuously improving performance with an increasingly limited workforce. This is part of IADO’s strategy to help prevent Indonesia from being sanctioned by WADA.
