IADO through its Education Directorate, held an Anti-Doping Education Webinar as part of the preparation for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The activity was held online through Zoom from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) and was attended by 97 participants, including athletes, coaches, medical teams, officials, the Chef de Mission (CdM) Team, and the NOC Indonesia Team. This activity was one of the programs of the IADO Education Directorate to strengthen the understanding and awareness of all members of the Indonesian contingent regarding anti-doping regulations before the 2026 Asian Games.
The webinar was opened by the Chairman of IADO, Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto, and featured two IADO Education Presenters, Rizki Hazazi Ali, S.Si., M.Pd. and dr. Merryana Seputri, Sp.KO. The materials were delivered through presentations followed by interactive discussions with the participants. The discussion covered six main topics: Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV), Consequences of Doping, Strict Liability, the Prohibited List, Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), and the Doping Control Process. Through the presentations and discussions, participants gained a more practical understanding of how to prevent anti-doping violations, use medicines and supplements safely, and understand athletes’ rights and responsibilities during the doping control process.
Based on the evaluation form completed by 64 participants, the webinar received very positive feedback. A total of 55 respondents gave the highest satisfaction score of 5, while 9 respondents gave a score of 4. In addition, 44 respondents stated that the webinar met their expectations, while 20 respondents said that it even exceeded their expectations. Participants considered the webinar useful for increasing their knowledge about ADRV, the Prohibited List, TUE, sample collection procedures, the Strict Liability principle, and the consequences of doping. The participants also highlighted the importance of not taking medicines or supplements carelessly, checking the ingredients of medicines before using them, following updates to the Prohibited List, and consulting doctors or medical professionals. Several participants also suggested that anti-doping education should be conducted regularly and reach not only athletes and their support teams, but also athletes’ parents.
The implementation of this webinar is an important part of IADO’s efforts to build a stronger understanding and anti-doping culture in Indonesian sports. Continuous education is expected to improve the readiness of athletes and all support teams for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, while also encouraging sporting achievements that are clean, healthy, fair, and based on integrity. By strengthening education and compliance with anti-doping regulations, IADO, together with all Indonesian sports stakeholders, is committed to supporting the Indonesian contingent in achieving success without doping.
