Bandung, 21 October 2022.

It has been known that from September 24th to 26th, 2022 Jakarta is the city for the IFSC Climbing World Cup Jakarta 2022. As part of the compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code on Article 5.2 on  Authority to Test, Article 5.3 on Event Testing, Article 5.4 on Testing Requirements as well as the International Standard for Testing and Investigations, all of the international sports events shall be equipped by implementation of doping control, whose purpose is to ensure that each winners of the competed open class category shall  not be indicated to have done / consumed any prohibited substances in which the list of prohibited substances has been published by WADA.

Based on the official request from the Organizing Committee of the IFSC Climbing Sport Jakarta 2022, thought its letter on September 22nd, 2022, IADO has been officially the authority as a TA (Testing Authority) on doping control to certain athletes. Furthermore, on the basis of the regulation at Article 12.24 on Anti-Doping published by IFSC: The event organizer shall arrange for anti-doping tests to be carried out in compliance with the national regulations governing international sport in their country, the World Anti-Doping Code, and the AFSC Anti-Doping Policy and Procedure and Disciplinary Rules.

The event ended a long time ago, approximately 1 month ago. Nevertheless, the result from the WADA – accredited laboratory in Bangkok was just received on October 17th, 2022, IADO (assigning 4 DCOs / Doping Control Officers on that event) then directly sent an official letter to the Chairman of FPTI (Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation) on October 19th, 2022 by mentioning the result for 4 athletes consisting of 2 male and 2 females athletes obtaining gold medals on lead and speed discipline. The related – results are as follows:

2Deng LijuanSport Climbing/SpeedChinaSep 24thNegative
3Janja GarnbretSport Climbing/LeadSloveniaSep 26thNegative
4Ao YurikusaSport Climbing/LeadJapanSep 26thNegative

This data of zero doping is very important for IADO to be published to the public, that common awareness among athletes (especially elite and junior athletes on certain sport programs) has shown good enough not to use any prohibited substances, because IADO has been quite intensive to accelerate and increase anti-doping education activities to certain athletes, who will compete on national or international sport events. Furthermore, on the basis of 3 world events which will be organized in Indonesia, namely FIFA U-20 World Cup, FIBA World Cup (co-host with Japan and the Philippines) and ANOC World Beach Games, as well as few international single events, has requested IADO to be well prepared if being assigned as TA (Testing Authority).
