IADO participated in the 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships, held in Jimbaran, Bali, from June 13th to 15th, 2026. IADO acted as the Sample Collection Authority (SCA) in collaboration with the World Aquatics and the Aquatics Indonesia. IADO’s involvement demonstrated Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the implementation of clean, fair, and international sports competitions in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code.
The 12th Asian Open Water Swimming Championships 2026 took place at the InterContinental Bali Resort in Jimbaran, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, and received high enthusiasm from participants and aquatics stakeholders across Asia. A total of 78 athletes from 18 countries participated in the championships, held in the waters off Jimbaran. Participants came from various Asian countries, including China, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, India, and the Middle East.
The 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships was one of the largest international events organized by the Indonesian Aquatics Association (PB Aquatik Indonesia) throughout 2026. In addition to providing a competitive platform for Asia’s best athletes, this championship also strengthened Indonesia’s position as a host capable of organizing international sporting events with high standards. The 2026 Asian Open Water Swimming Championships was also an important agenda in the regional aquatic sports calendar and contributes to the development of sports tourism in Indonesia, especially in Bali. The presence of athletes, officials, and delegates from various countries had a positive impact on the promotion of tourism and Indonesia’s image at the international level. In implementing the anti-doping program, doping control officers assigned by IADO successfully carried out sample collection in accordance with the established Mission Order. The entire process ran smoothly while upholding integrity and ensuring confidentiality and security in accordance with international anti-doping standards.
