IADO, in collaboration with the Indonesian Weightlifting Association (PABSI), successfully implemented a doping control program for the 2026 National Weightlifting Selection as part of preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The national selection, held at the Kwini Marine Base, Central Jakarta, was officially opened by the Secretary General of PB PABSI Major General Mar (Ret.) Djoko Pramono, and attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lieutenant General (Ret.) Marciano Norman. The event then continued with a series of competitions, bringing together the best athletes from the National Training Center and various regions across Indonesia to compete for the opportunity to represent Indonesia at this international event.
A total of 14 athletes participated in the national selection, consisting of eight female athletes and six male athletes. All participants displayed their best abilities in intense competition in each class. The narrow weight difference between the athletes created a spirited competitive atmosphere and demonstrated the high quality of national weightlifting development. In implementing Doping Control in this activity, IADO acted as the Testing Authority (TA), Sample Collection Authority (SCA), and Result Management Authority (RMA). To ensure the entire process runs according to international standards, IADO assigned two Doping Control Officers (DCOs) who were responsible for overseeing each stage of sample collection based on the provisions of the International Standard for Testing and Investigations (ISTI) and regulations set by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
The entire sampling process was carried out with the principles of confidentiality, security, and integrity of the samples to ensure the creation of fair, clean, and doping-free competitions. This commitment was an important part of the IADO’s efforts to maintain the credibility of Indonesian sports at the national and international levels. Through its involvement in the 2026 National Weightlifting Selection, IADO hopes that all athletes can compete cleanly and that no violations of the list of prohibited substances and methods as stated in the WADA Prohibited List 2025 are found. In addition, this activity also served as a means of increasing the technical capacity and professionalism of the IADO Sample Collection Personnel (SCP) team in facing various international championships in the future.
