Jakarta, 29 September 2026

On September 29th, 2026, the Indonesian Sports Health Development Association (PPKORI), acting as the implementing body assisting the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) for DKI Jakarta, organized an anti-doping education event themed “Clean Sport, Strong Performance: Building High-Achieving, Principled, and Doping-Free Athletes and Coaches for the DKI Jakarta PON XXII/2028 Regional Training Squad.” Held at the DKI Jakarta KONI Provincial Building, the event was attended by 112 participants representing 23 sports disciplines. The event was opened by Mr. Fatchul Anas (Vice Chairman I of KONI DKI Jakarta), with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Tirto Apriyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., and featured two IADO Education Presenters: Ir. Hadi Wihardja, OLY, and Dr. Arie Sutopo, Sp.KO.

The seminar covered nine key topics: Clean Sport principles, the background of anti-doping organizations, Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) and the consequences of doping, athletes’ rights and responsibilities, the Prohibited List, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE), the doping control process, “Speak Up” procedures, and an introduction to the ADEL platform. The sessions on the Prohibited List and TUEs were presented by Dr. Arie Sutopo, Sp.KO, while the other topics were covered by IADO Education Presenter Ir. Hadi Wihardja, OLY. The seminar was conducted interactively, allowing participants to engage in discussions and ask questions.

One question raised by a participant concerned whether the consumption of supplements could be managed over a specific timeframe to avoid detection during doping tests. Addressing this question, Dr. Arie Sutopo, Sp.KO, stated that every supplement must be examined and its use coordinated with the contingent’s sports physician. Another issue that arises concerns potential doping cases involving Indonesian athletes at the 2026 Asian Games; according to Ir. Hadi Wihardja, OLY, both the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) and the athletes themselves play a crucial role here—specifically regarding the understanding of the 11 Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs), which must be scrutinized with great care. Compliance with regulations remains essential due to the principle of “strict liability.”

Among the 51 participants who completed the evaluation form, the group comprised various categories of varying sizes. Athletes formed the second-largest group with 34 individuals, followed by coaches (20) and officials/managers/others (36). Additionally, there were representatives from KONI DKI Jaya, one medical professional (doctor), nine administrators, and two parents. Overall, the data indicates a diverse range of participants, including athletes, coaches, medical personnel, administrators/managers, and others.

Evaluation results showed an excellent response, with all respondents (100%) expressing high satisfaction regarding the resources, materials, topic relevance, overall content, and time management. Participants noted that the event deepened their understanding of prohibited substances and methods in sports, anti-doping regulations, and the risks associated with medication and supplement use. Some participants expressed a desire for more frequent events of this kind to ensure that anti-doping information remains up-to-date and reaches a wider audience of athletes and support staff. Through this initiative, DKI Jakarta’s provincial training squad (Pelatda / Regional Training Center) athletes and coaches are expected to be better prepared for PON XXII/2028, not only in terms of performance but also in understanding and upholding the principles of clean sport. It is hoped that athletic achievements will go hand-in-hand with sportsmanship, integrity, and a commitment to remaining doping-free. IADO will continue to collaborate with KONI and other relevant stakeholders to expand anti-doping education and foster a clean, principled sports environment in Indonesia.
