The Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO), through its Education Presenter (PRESI), conducted an anti-doping education session as part of the “Capacity Building in Coaching, Sports Administration, and Sports Diplomacy: Pencak Silat Road to Global Stage 2026” program. The event took place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at the Aston Bogor Hotel & Resort in Bogor, West Java, and was attended by 50 Pencak Silat coaches from various regions across Indonesia.

The session was led by the Education Presenter (PRESI) Mr. Muhammad Labib Siena Ar Rasyid, S.Pd., M.Pd. Topics covered included the objectives and global framework of anti-doping, the values of clean sport, Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRV) and the principle of Strict Liability, the roles and responsibilities of Athlete Support Personnel, the Prohibited List and Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE), and the doping control process. Participants were also introduced to WADA’s ADEL (Anti-Doping E-Learning) platform. The material was delivered through presentations interspersed with IADO educational videos, and participants completed pre- and post-tests to assess their understanding before and after the session.

The event proceeded smoothly, with participants engaging enthusiastically in the sessions. During the Q&A, a coach from DKI Jakarta asked about the rules for athletes required to submit “whereabouts” information if they traveled out of the region and were suddenly selected for testing. It was explained that testing is conducted without prior notice; therefore, athletes must update their location details whenever their plans change. A coach from South Kalimantan asked whether ADEL was similar to other online programs and if participation remained mandatory for international competitions. It was clarified that ADEL is WADA’s learning platform and that certificate requirements depend on the event organizer or international federation. A coach from Central Java urged fellow participants not to underestimate ADEL, noting that an increasing number of official events require the certificate, and inquired about an athlete’s right to a defense in cases involving supplements with unclear labeling. It was explained that while athletes are entitled to a fair hearing, they must exercise caution when selecting supplements and retain proof of purchase as well as product packaging.

Evaluations indicated that participants found the material relevant and beneficial, with test results showing a trend of improved understanding, particularly regarding Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs). Participants also expressed a hope that anti-doping education would be expanded to all provinces and reach sports stakeholders at the grassroots level. Through this initiative, IADO hopes coaches will serve as the vanguard in upholding clean sport at every stage of athlete development leading to the global stage.
