The Indonesia Anti-Doping Organization (IADO) once again contributed to anti-doping oversight at an international sporting event through the assignment of International Doping Control Officer (IDCO) Dr. Giri Prayogo, M.Pd., to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, held in Japan from September 19th to October 4th, 2026. This assignment stemmed from an official invitation from the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) received by IADO on July 21st, 2026. Mr. Giri Prayogo was one of 44 IDCOs from various countries who, alongside Japanese DCOs, involved in conducting anti-doping oversight during the Asian Games.
As an IDCO, Mr. Giri Prayogo involved in both In-Competition Testing (ICT) and Out-of-Competition Testing (OOCT). The entire process was carried out in accordance with the International Standard for Testing and Investigations (ISTI), upholding principles of independence, confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism. Doping control operations were further supported by the use of MODOC (Mobile Doping Control) for digital recording, data management, documentation, and reporting. That experience offered an opportunity for the Indonesian DCO to enhance his competence and adapt to international-level anti-doping oversight systems and technologies.
IADO Chairman Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Indonesia’s Doping Control Officers (DCOs). “The assignment of Indonesian DCOs to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games represents both a vote of confidence and an opportunity to demonstrate the professionalism and competence of IADO personnel on the international stage. Collaborating with DCOs from various nations and their Japanese counterparts, including utilizing the MODOC system, served as a valuable experience for further enhancing the capabilities of Indonesia’s DCOs,” stated Mr. Gatot S. Dewa Broto.
That marked another international milestone for Mr. Giri Prayogo, following a previous opportunity provided by JADA to undergo on-site Doping Control Officer training and participate in anti-doping oversight at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics. “I hope this experience paves the way for future opportunities and continued trust in carrying out anti-doping duties internationally. I look forward to contributing to various global multi-sport events, including, should the opportunity arise, serving at the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics or the French Alps 2030 Winter Olympics,” said Mr. Giri Prayogo. That participation reflected IADO’s contribution to fostering clean, fair, and principled sports that uphold the spirit of fair play, while simultaneously strengthening the capacity of Indonesian DCOs in international anti-doping operations.
