The Chairman of PHI NADO Dr. Alejandro V Pineda and his team were invited by IADO to have dinner at a hotel in Jakarta on July 22nd, 2022. The purpose of the meeting was not only to create any relax situation during the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup, but it also enabled both NADOs and PERBASI to exchange information and experiences, even though IADO had to in fact learn more from PHI NADO.
On the meeting, there was something interesting when the Chairman of PHI NADO kindly asked the Chairman of IADO on why the testing authority of FIBA Asia Cup was not handled by IADO because the event was organized in Indonesia. Such a kind question was understandable as part of the ASEAN solidarity.
IADO then explained to its partner from Philippine that NADO of Indonesia was just lifted from the suspension from WADA, and FIBA probably assumed that IADO did not yet prepare to do any doping control activity, in particular as the testing authority. IADO was actually well prepared to handle any doping control activity for FIBA Asia, because the BWF events in Jakarta on June 2022 were handled successfully by IADO.
